We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting while supporting our mission of relationship-based, community-focused banking.
Reports to: VP Controller
Location: Corporate Headquarters, Montgomery New York
Bank Hours: Monday Friday 8:15 am 5:00 pm
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting functions, including regulatory and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness. This role is responsible for managing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities and supporting the overall financial operations of the Bank.
The Accounting Manager partners closely with the Controller/CFO to recommend, develop, and maintain sound accounting principles, policies, and procedures that support compliant and effective financial and regulatory reporting. In addition, this position provides leadership and direction to accounting staff, ensuring work is appropriately assigned, deadlines are met, and operational efficiencies are achieved.

Experience
- Financial accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge required.
- Experience with regulatory and financial reporting in a banking environment preferred.
- Knowledge of community banking operations and regulations is strongly preferred.
- 25 years of related accounting experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

Pay Information
The annual salary range for this role is $81,393 to $101,741 negotiable based on years of experience, skill set, qualifications and other relevant factors.
Incentive compensation is available based on bank performance goals. Paid annually (based on hire date)
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency. Able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator and able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Also able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

The successful candidate will be able to perform the essential functions of the role independently or collaboratively as part of a team. This includes the ability to plan and manage work activities for themselves and others, understand and follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate information clearly and logically.
