Litigation Associate – Houston, TX

Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our Houston office. Our Shareholders handle civil litigation, including insurance coverage disputes and defense of first-party insurance cases involving many types of insurance, including homeowners and commercial property, CGLs, and UM/UIM coverage, as well as some third-party personal injury defense in both state and federal courts. The Litigation Associate would be involved in all aspects of the case from pre-suit to settlement, trial or appeal.  

 The ideal candidate has strong legal research and writing skills with excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a busy practice. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, conducting legal research, taking depositions, attending hearings, and contributing to case strategy.  Please include a writing sample, resume, transcript and cover letter.  

 Qualifications:

 J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed in Texas; Oklahoma admission (or eligible) a plus
2–5 years of litigation experience preferred
Exceptional research and writing skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
