Data Analyst Company Overview: The Berkshire Eagle is a multimedia company located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts with additional brands including the Shopper's Guide, The B Magazine, Talon Media, berkshiresweek.com and the Berkshire Business Journal. Revenue divisions include subscriptions, print/digital advertising, commercial printing and shared services. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team and play a key role in data analytics, reporting, and support related to financial planning and business performance. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial health and growth strategy of a leading local news organization. Position Overview: The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business and financial data, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing clear, actionable insights to leadership. This role will work closely with the Finance team and department leaders to evaluate financial opportunities, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance revenue strategies. Key Responsibilities: Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive financial planning. Provide data-driven insights to inform revenue growth and cost optimization strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess performance and support decision-making. Evaluate the financial impact of new business initiatives, technology investments, and partnerships. Develop and maintain financial models to enhance reporting and strategic planning. Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership. Assist in financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, analytics, accounting, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in data analysis, corporate finance, or a related role. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. Knowledge of media, publishing, or subscription-based business models is a plus. Must be willing to work in person in our Pittsfield, Massachusetts offices Compensation & Benefits: Starting at $45,000 annually; negotiable based on experience.
