Our client is a real estate investment platform that identifies, structures, and executes high-impact opportunities across Mexico and the US, spanning large-scale mixed-use, multifamily, residential, boutique, and resort developments. The firm is currently leading a 300-hectare, long-term development project in Todos Santos BCS, launched through one of its investment funds. This ambitious project, expected to unfold over 10 to 15 years, reflects the company's strategic vision, disciplined execution, and commitment to creating lasting value through transformative real estate investments. What the job involves
- Own the full accounting function for large-scale real estate projects, driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, financial reporting, and tax
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the internal accounting team, while coordinating closely with an external accounting firm to ensure top-quality deliverables
- Ensure strict compliance with Mexican accounting and tax regulations, managing filings and relationships with authorities
- Partner with the CFO on budgeting, cash flow, and financial analysis to support strategic project decisions
- Strengthen internal controls, streamline accounting procedures, and continuously improve processes
- Support internal and external audits with timely, accurate documentation
- Occasionally travel to project sites to oversee operations and maintain hands-on control
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (CPA or equivalent highly valued)
- Extensive progressive accounting experience, including proven leadership in senior roles.
- Proven track record managing both internal accounting teams and external firms
- Strong expertise in Mexican accounting standards and tax regulations
- Hands-on experience in real estate development, construction, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and business acumen skills to drive strategic financial decisions
- Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with ERP systems
- Willingness to travel periodically to project sites as needed
