The Sr. Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting within our commercial, defense, and aerospace company environment. Highly detail oriented, customer focused, experience with CAS/FAR, along with the ability to interpret and verify accuracy of data, to work collaboratively across functional areas, and supporting and developing a high-performance team are essential skills for success in this role. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the Accounting Functions of General Ledger, AR, AP, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Tax.
- Supervise staff that evolves with growth of company.
- Oversee monthly and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, accruals, and overall maintenance of general-ledger accounts.
- Prepare financial reports and verify accuracy of the data.
- Review travel & expense (T&E) reports and weekly AP check runs.
- Review bi-weekly Payroll.
- Provide accounting guidance to functional departments.
- Review and oversee ERP user access & internal controls.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP.
- Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and process efficiencies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate team performance, meet commitments, and achieve goals.
- Supervise, train, mentor and coach accounting team. Motivate and lead team to support mission, act with integrity, work collaboratively, meet commitments, and achieve objectives.
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of general accounting experience, or a master's degree with 6+ years of general accounting experience.
- 5 years People Management experience and ability to build and develop a high-performance culture.
- 5+ years manufacturing cost accounting experience
- Expert level working experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- CPA or CMA Certification.
- Master's in Accounting or MBA.
- Accounts Payable (A/P) and/or Accounts Receivable (A/R) experience.
- Payroll experience.
- ERP use and implementation experience.
- Mergers and acquisition experience.
- Travel: ~10%, possibly infrequent international travel.
- Work Environment: Office work environment, with occasional visits to manufacturing sites.
