Description
OverviewPelican Bay was the host of 2 Senior PGA Tour Events. In 1984, Orville Moody made a famous chip-in in a sudden death playoff to beat the legendary Arnold Palmer. A Championship Daytona Beach golf course that features long demanding holes and beautiful elevated tee boxes. The North Course, designed by Bill Amick winding through waterways, loblolly pines, bayberry and white cedars that escort and maintain the boundaries for the course.
The club is under new ownership/management and is in the process of making significant improvements to the golf course, clubhouse, and swimming pool. Currently, we are in the process of redoing all the golf course putting greens.
The club is in a large private community of roughly 1,800 homeowners gives it a well-kept, residential feel, even though the course itself is open to the public.
The club features a beautiful full-size driving range with a wide, flat grass deck along with a short game practice area.
Experience Required
Golf Professional (PGA Member) - Player Development Focus
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated PGA of America Member who is fully committed to the Player Engagement Program and passionate about growing the game of golf through structured instruction and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a comprehensive player development program aligned with PGA of America Player Engagement standards
- Design, organize, and promote individual and group instruction for players of all skill levels
- Develop and grow a robust Junior Golf Program, including clinics, camps, and player pathways
- Create innovative programs to increase participation and retention within the club and local community
- Utilize modern teaching tools and player development tracking systems
- Collaborate with management to position the club as a premier teaching facility in the Daytona Beach area
Qualifications
- Active PGA Member in good standing
- Proven experience in player development and instruction programming
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for junior golf and long-term player development
- Self-starter with the ability to build and promote programs from the ground up
