Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona is seeking a full-time Homeowner Support Manager to
lead implementation of its new Homeowner Support Program. This role will be involved in
launching a pilot homeowner support program, and refining the program using data and
feedback.
The position is ideal for a self-directed professional with experience in social services, case
management, or a related field who can work independently and collaborate across teams. The
Homeowner Support Manager will partner with staff, volunteers, and community organizations to
deliver homeowner support.
The role represents HFHNA in the community and requires strong communication skills. The
ideal candidate is organized, people-centered, and comfortable discussing budgeting, credit,
and debt in an empowering, non-judgmental way, with a strong commitment to homeowner
voice and experience.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Solid background in social work, social services and/or case management
(demonstrated by a degree and/or relevant work experience)
Values homeowner input and adapts communication and support to meet diverse
cultural needs
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to effectively work with program
applicants, homeowners, board members, volunteers, local officials, community partners
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, especially working with diverse groups
Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain tracking systems for
homeowner applications, move in readiness, homeowner education, etc
Understanding of how to use outcomes measurement and data collection for continuous
program improvement
Comfortable with public speaking in small and large settings
Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), database
systems (including basic knowledge of data entry best practices)
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Master of Social Work or related human services graduate degree
One or more years related experience in nonprofit program delivery
Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Navajo
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversight of the entire Homeowner Support Program including but not limited to the
application process, homeownership education, community outreach and
coordination/collaboration with Homeowner Selection Committee
Use creativity, knowledge and research to sustain and enhance a homeowner education
program, including financial literacy, home maintenance, and other elements
Ensure that prospective, selected and active homeowners are provided resources and
information to successfully navigate each stage of the Habitat home buying process
Create and maintain prospective and active homeowner files
Maintain and update all program collateral, community outreach contact lists, and
website program information
Continuation of existing community-based service provider relationships as well as
development of new relationships
Develop relationships with counterparts at other Habitat for Humanity affiliates –
maintain open communication for discussion and collaboration
Actively and effectively participate in research and education opportunities to understand
affordable housing initiatives, Habitat International policies and procedures; fair housing
laws; HUD housing income guidelines; down-payment assistance policies, etc
Acquire required HFHI annual certifications for Qualified Loan Originator
Work closely with fellow staff to coordinate homeowner sweat equity opportunities
(construction/renovation site participation, community volunteering)
Participate in all HFHNA events, presentations and community outreach as assigned –
work with colleagues in event planning, preparation and execution
Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the Habitat mission and philosophy
Compensation & Work Environment:
This position is salaried and requires a flexible work week which will include varied weekend
and evening hours to accommodate job duties. Ability to work remotely when appropriate.
Starting annual salary range between $50,000 and $60,000 based on experience. Includes a
benefit package ($250 health stipend every two weeks; 4 weeks of PTO a year and national
holidays) following a 90-day probationary period.
This role regularly involves physical activity, including moving and setting up event equipment
and navigating construction sites safely. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable
individuals with limited mobility to perform the essential functions of this role.
