JOB TITLE: Director of Accounting + Finance

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors, CEO

SUPERVISORY: Yes

SALARY: $85,000 - $100,000

STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time

Position Overview:

They are looking for a dynamic accounting and finance leader who can combine strategic vision with hands-on expertise. This role will guide our financial operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, and develop systems that support long-term organizational strength and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight for finance team.
• Lead month end and year end close activities, journal entries and accruals.
• Manage yearly audits for organization and provide strategic and actionable corrections based on findings.
• Develop a budget for organization to be approved by the Board of Directors.
• Provide strategic financial forecasting, including 30-60-90 and cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure finance records are maintained and stored appropriately.
• Create and update procedures to ensure audit ready status.
• Assist in updating and refining financial policies.
• Provide on-site support to Human Resources.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum seven years progressive accounting experience; including at least two in a supervisory role.
• Experience managing multiple income streams.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and problem-solve.
• Ability to handle sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Willingness and ability to work outside normal business hours as needed. This may include some Holidays and/or weekends.
• Satisfactory completion of background and credit checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Fund accounting a plus
