Description
OverviewBellingham, WA | The front nine of Sudden Valley is relatively open and flat and borders the shores of Lake Whatcom. Fairway landing areas are relatively generous and the greens are large. However, the back nine follows a ridge uphill with narrow evergreen-fringed fairways and smaller greens that have more character. Sudden Valley is considered a true masterpiece, stressing finesse and accuracy with water hazards on fourteen of the eighteen holes and some forty-seven bunkers sprinkled throughout the course.
Sudden Valley Golf Club has been described by some reviewers with phrases like "...there is just something about it that is magic..." and "...it has some incredible views, great landscaping, and is just a pleasure to play. The front 9 is pretty flat and features some tough shots into the green but has some very fun tees to hit off of. The back 9 is very hilly and has some amazing tees including the 15th (I think) where you tee of a ridge that is easily 150 feet above the fairway." Another reviewer wrote, "You really have to think your way around this course. Overall, I loved the course and can't wait to play it again."
Sudden Valley GC is a semi-private Golf Club with a very active membership. The golf course is owned and ultimately overseen by the Sudden Valley Community Association homeowners.
