Description
OverviewEmerald Bay Club and Homeowners Association is seeking a high-caliber General Manager/COO to lead our premier gated community and private club. Located on the shores of Lake Palestine in East Texas, Emerald Bay is a member-centric community established in 1971 that values its rich traditions while striving for operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader capable of elevating the member experience from "well-run" to exceptional.
Experience Required
- Experience: 8-12+ years of progressive leadership in private clubs or high-end Prior General Manager, COO, or equivalent senior leadership experience required.
- Education: Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- Prior Certifications: CCM, CCE, or PGA certifications are preferred or in CMCA a plus.
- Leadership: High emotional intelligence and political acumen suited for a member-governed environment.
- HOA Management: Prior HOA management experience is considered a plus.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Partner with the Board to develop and execute the long-range strategic plan and annual business strategy.
- Build trust through transparency, sound judgment, and consistent communication with members.
- Ensure alignment between governance priorities and operational execution across all areas.
Operational Excellence & Member Experience
- Establish and enforce high service standards across all departments including Golf, F&B, and Security.
- Foster a culture of accountability and professionalism, acting as the visible ambassador of the community.
- Identify opportunities to elevate the Club/HOA experience and oversee capital planning initiatives.
- Establish credibility and trust with the Board, community, and staff.
- Align the leadership team around clear performance standards and expectations.
- Identify key opportunities and implement measurable improvements in service consistency.
- Demonstrate sustained improvement in member satisfaction and engagement.
- Develop a cohesive, high-performing leadership team.
- Lead the development and management of operating and capital budgets for both the club and hoa.
- Maintain strong financial discipline while supporting a high-quality member experience.
- Successfully execute strategic and capital initiatives.
