- Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Manager, Internal Controls & Financial Reporting will lead Viridian’s internal controls program, oversee internal and external financial reporting, and manage technical accounting matters. This role partners cross-functionally to support, maintain, and enhance internal controls, SEC reporting, and accounting documentation.
This position is based in Waltham, MA. Office-based employees are expected to work onsite at least three (3) days per week.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Lead the SEC reporting process, including preparation and filing of Forms 10-K and 10-Q, updating financial statements in Workiva, and coordinating with Legal and cross-functional teams for business updates
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the internal control environment, with a focus on SOX 404(b) compliance, risk assessments, and audit readiness
- Research and evaluate accounting issues; prepare technical accounting memos on a quarterly and ad hoc basis
- Manage internal controls and reporting timelines using FloQast
- Maintain and update accounting policies to ensure alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support audit procedures, testing, and reviews
- Support close acceleration initiatives and other reporting improvement efforts
- Partner with FP&A to develop and prepare internal and external financial reports
- Support equity and share-based compensation processes, including disclosures, reconciliations, and SOX controls
- Perform internal controls activities, including key report testing, IT workflow reviews, documentation updates, and training on SOX 404(b) requirements
- Contribute to special finance projects as the organization scales and prepares for commercial launch

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or CPA license required; 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with SEC reporting and financial reporting, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls
- Public accounting and biotech industry experience preferred
- Commercial launch and/or commercial drug experience preferred
- Systems conversions, implementations, and process improvement experience strongly preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, drive results, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to ethical standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
