OEHME, VAN SWEDEN | OvS, an internationally recognized, award-winning landscape architecture firm located in Logan Circle is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and motivated candidate who is authorized to work in the United States. The position requires a high level of design for a diversified mix of clients that includes architects, government agencies, public institutions, developers, and private homeowners.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a creative and talented Designer to join our team and support the firm’s senior staff and principals on projects. The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, enjoy working within a creative team, and carry a strong work ethic. This position will provide the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of projects and will build a strong foundation in design and construction oversight.

The Role: With an exciting range of current work and potential projects on the horizon, we are looking for a highly motivated candidate to take on a key role with our team. The ideal candidate will:

• Participate in all phases of a project from master plan through construction observation;
• Prepare site analysis documents and diagrams, conduct research relevant to project work, prepare illustrative plans and narrative descriptions, and assist with material selections;
• Deliver a high standard of graphic, written, and verbal communication, and actively engage with and contribute to a vibrant design studio culture;
• Participate as a member of a team, with an ability to collaborate effectively through asking questions, providing input, and listening to others.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or related discipline;
• A high level of proficiency with Revit is required, along with experience in the use of relevant software applications such as AutoCAD and at least one 3D modeling program;
• Strong graphic skills in Adobe Suite programs including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator;
• Desire to deepen familiarity with plant species and planting design.
